Description
Can you hear your factory Harley speakers loud and clear at highway speeds?
We didn’t think so…
Are you tired of blowing those factory speakers trying to be able to hear them?
Of course you are!
These issues are something we hear ALL the time at Volunteer Audio, so we are here to give you a sound experience you will be blown away with! This package will allow you to keep your factory radio when upgrading your sound system, but it will require a flash in order to get the full potential out of your amplifier and speakers so your music will be loud and clear up to 100 mph!
Can I really hear rear speakers when I add them to my bike? We get this question ALL the time at Volunteer Audio, so we want to answer the question once and for all…YES of course you can hear the rear speakers when they are added. When you purchase from Volunteer Audio we do several things to make sure you can hear your rear speakers:
- When installing 6×9” we use cut in kits which position the speaker higher in the lid which takes up less room in your bag and also angles the speaker toward you so you can hear the speaker better. Most replacement lids do not do these things.
- We properly power the rear speakers so they are loud enough to hear even when they are behind you.
- When using a factory radio after flashing the radio you will lose fader, we take that into account and fade our amplifier settings slightly to the rear.
We know that the rear speakers won’t overpower the front speakers because the front speakers are pointing directly at you, of course they will be louder, but the rear speakers give you a more full sound that surrounds you. Which gives you a concert feeling and also gives added mid-bass.

Let’s talk CVO Boom systems
We know…you upgraded to the Boom Stage 2 system and are still disappointed. While sitting still your music sounded great but turn on the engine and all you get is distortion. You spent a lot of money and didn’t get nearly the sound you thought you would have. We hear this ALL the time at Volunteer Audio, so we have partnered with Infinity to give you a sound experience you will be blown away with! This package will allow you to keep your factory radio when upgrading your Boom sound system, but it will require a flash in order to get the full sound potential out of your amplifier and speakers so your music will be loud and clear up to 100 mph!
There are a couple different CVO Boom systems that are available. Let’s talk about how to tell which Boom system you have.
Boom Stage 1 – Comes mostly on bikes with factory tour pack speakers, you will have a total of 4 speakers and 1 amplifier. You will also be able to tell by the speakers only having one positive and one negative connection. Having Boom Stage 1 you can change only the amplifier and leave the factory speakers.
Boom Stage 2 – Comes mostly on bikes with factory saddlebag speakers, there will normally be a total of 6 speakers (uppers, lowers and saddlebag) with 3 amplifiers or 4 speakers (uppers and saddlebag) with 2 amplifiers. Each speaker will also have a total of 4 connections; the tweeter and the woofer are both wired to the amplifiers with separate connections. Having Boom Stage 2 you will have to change the amplifier and the speakers at the same time.
