Let’s talk CVO Boom systems
We know…you upgraded to the Boom Stage 2 system and are still disappointed. While sitting still your music sounded great but turn on the engine and all you get is distortion. You spent a lot of money and didn’t get nearly the sound you thought you would have. We hear this ALL the time at Volunteer Audio, so we have partnered with Infinity to give you a sound experience you will be blown away with! This package will allow you to keep your SoundStream radio when upgrading your Boom sound system
There are a couple different CVO Boom systems that are available. Let’s talk about how to tell which Boom system you have.
Boom Stage 1 – Comes mostly on bikes with factory tour pack speakers, you will have a total of 4 speakers and 1 amplifier. You will also be able to tell by the speakers only having one positive and one negative connection. Having Boom Stage 1 you can change only the amplifier and leave the factory speakers.
Boom Stage 2 – Comes mostly on bikes with factory saddlebag speakers, there will normally be a total of 6 speakers (uppers, lowers and saddlebag) with 3 amplifiers or 4 speakers (uppers and saddlebag) with 2 amplifiers. Each speaker will also have a total of 4 connections; the tweeter and the woofer are both wired to the amplifiers with separate connections. Having Boom Stage 2 you will have to change the amplifier and the speakers at the same time.

These issues are something we hear ALL the time at Volunteer Audio, so we have partnered with Hertz and SoundStream to give you a sound experience you will be blown away with!
This Volunteer Audio Stage 2 package includes the SoundStream V2 radio with thumb control module, your choice of prewired amplifier and 1 set of Hertz SX165NEO 6.5″ speakers to mount into your front fairing. This combination is a perfect match for the environment of your Harley Davidson. The amplifiers are compact amplifiers that are IP64 rated so you do not have to worry about moisture. The Hertz speakers also have weather-resistant cones that will stand up to any moisture that comes their way. The SoundStream Reserve V2 radio is IPx6 marine certified just like the factory Harley radio, so you no longer have to worry about getting caught in the rain. It is a complete plug and play unit with absolutely no hardwiring required. You will reuse your factory bolts so make sure to keep them.
When we send out this Stage 2 package, the amplifier is pre-wired to plug into your SoundStream radio. Your factory speaker wires are retained and will be used with the Hertz speakers we send. We have the amp gains already set to the maximum setting for loudness WITHOUT distortion of the speakers. We do not want any trouble with blown speakers you’ve had enough of that already, so our goal is to get the most sound out of the speakers clearly. Once you plug the amp harness into the radio harness all that is left is to run the power and ground wires from the amp to the battery and connect.
